WHY SLOWING DOWN IS THE RICHEST THING YOU’LL EVER DO.
I used to push myself so hard — filling every hour with lists, goals, and “getting my life together.” But somewhere in all that doing, I forgot to actually live. I forgot to eat, to drink water, to breathe.
So by the time I clocked out one night, I was exhausted — dehydrated, starving, and honestly just hanging by a thread.
My first delivery that evening took forty-five minutes of wandering a maze-like building that smelled like paint and despair. By the time I found the door, I was crying behind the wheel, mad at everything and nothing. Then I stopped for gas and realized I could only put $25 in the tank.
I sat there, staring at the pump, whispering to myself, “Is this my rock bottom?”

And that’s when it hit me: I’m not doing this to myself anymore. I’m not worth another night of self-betrayal. So instead of forcing myself through another shift, I did something brand new — I went home. I chose rest over revenue.
When I walked in, there was food, laughter upstairs, my dog wagging his tail, and Janine — who, in the most loving way, said:
“You were kinda manic today.”

So I let go. I surrendered into safety, exhaled, ate, and felt my body finally come back online.

After 5 p.m., no more forcing. No more scrambling. Laptop closed. Candle lit. Body exhale. Because the truth is: the world doesn’t fall apart when I rest — it opens up. 💗
