““You’re not required to save the world with your creativity. Your art not only doesn’t have to be original, in other words, it also doesn’t have to be important. For example, whenever anyone tells me that they want to write a book in order to help other people I always think ‘Oh, please don’t. Please don’t try to help me.’ I mean it’s very kind of you to help people, but please don’t make it your sole creative motive because we will feel the weight of your heavy intention, and it will put a strain upon our souls.” -Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic

THIS QUOTE HIT ME IN THE FACE!

What a RELIEF!

When I create “for others” or use my “human voice,” my message doesn’t have as much of a ripple effect as it does when I use my soul’s voice.

And there’s where my unconditional love for creating comes in. The writing that comes from my soul FEELS *magical*, and it also comes off that way for anyone reading.

But the human voice that wants to ‘fix’ people is not that fun to create from, in fact, it feels LESS creative; less soulful.
Every time I sit down to write, I remind myself that I’m not here to fix anybody. I’m here to live, create, and share my story- and in turn, that inspires others because it’s my heART.

Do your ART with as much fire in your soul as possible. Create for YOU.

If you haven’t ready @elizabeth_gilbert_writer ‘s BIG MAGIC- then do your SOUL a favor and get it! I have it on audiobook because I love her narrations- however, I’m going to have to buy myself a copy of the book because there’s so much *magic* to highlight✨
