What is self-worth? Self-worth is the ability to not only know who you are and your potential, but your overall VALUE of who you are as an individual.
Where does self-worth come from? Self-worth (or a lack of it) IS impacted by outside forces (family, opinions, social status, wins & failures, life experiences, etc.,). However, genuine self-worth comes from YOUR ability to recognize the value of yourself REGARDLESS of outside forces. Short answer: IT COMES FROM YOU.
How can you gain more of it? Short answer: learn to f*cking ACCEPT & LOVE yourself. The worth will rise from within you. Trust me; you’re ALREADY WORTHY, you just don’t recognize it yet. BUT. The most important thing to remember here is this: You (yes you) CAN feel worthy AF if you want to. But it begins with learning to accept and love yourself for the human that you are right now. And please remember this super important detail: You have been through so much, yet you’re MORE than ever before. Don’t let your shitty experiences take away from who you are as an individual. Let it EMPOWER you. Look at how much you have dealt with, yet here you are, MORE you than ever before. You’re putting in the effort of all the sh*t life is throwing at you, and you’re flowing right on through. And you’re learning, but even more importantly, you’re GROWING — each step of the way, whether you see it or not.
Do I think that outside forces can positively impact your self-worth? F*ck yes. Surround yourself with humans who LOVE you for who you are and tell you all the time how effing amazing you are. Also: Challenge YOURSELF consistently to show up BETTER than before. Show yourself how worthy you are by not only learning to love yourself but also showing up as who you are in the best way possible.
