Questions people ask

What is a money story?

The belief underneath your financial decisions — what you charge, what you keep, what you think you are allowed to have. It is usually inherited or absorbed rather than chosen, and it runs long before any budget does.

How long does this quiz take?

Seven questions, about two minutes. Free, no account required.

What are the four beliefs?

The Guilty Earner, the Safety Hoarder, the Invisible Earner, and the Punished Earner. Each holds a different rule about what money costs you — guilt for having it, fear of losing it, discomfort at being seen with it, or the belief that it arrives with a bill attached.

Why do I feel guilty about money I earned?

Usually because somewhere you absorbed a rule about who is allowed to have it and at what cost. Guilt fires when an internal rule is broken, so earning well can trip it in exactly the same way as doing something wrong — which is confusing when the money was honestly made.

Is this about budgeting or spending habits?

No. It looks underneath the habits at the belief producing them, which is why two women with identical incomes can have completely opposite relationships with the same amount of money.
