The Calendar That Was Already Full
A short interactive story about a Tuesday with zero white space left, and one more invite asking to be squeezed in anyway. You choose what she does with her day and her body; there are four possible endings.
It is 8:58 on a Tuesday morning and Noor's calendar is already a solid wall of color, back-to-back, no gaps, from 9 until 4.
9:00 Team standup
9:30 Client call — Whitfield account
10:15 1:1 with Priya
New invite
NEW: 11:00 "Quick sync? Just 15 min!"
She looks at the new invite for a second longer than it deserves. Fifteen minutes. It's phrased the way these things always are — small, harmless, apologetic almost, as though naming its own brevity is supposed to make it free. It is not free. There is no fifteen minutes anywhere in this day; the 10:15 with Priya runs long most weeks, and even if it didn't, fifteen minutes doesn't appear out of nothing. It gets taken from somewhere, usually the four minutes between calls that were supposed to be for water, or the bathroom, or just sitting still.
Noor's shoulders are already up near her ears, and it's not even nine o'clock. She notices this the way you notice weather — present, unsurprising, not obviously connected to anything that's happened yet today, because it isn't about today. It's about the fourteen days like this one that came before it.
The invite sits there, blinking gently, waiting for a decision that has to be made in the next ninety seconds if she wants to make it before the standup starts.
Her hand is already moving toward the trackpad.
